Jeffrey Barczak started playing guitar 13 years ago. At that time, his good friend Mark Mears had been playing for years, and was able to give advice and pointers. Initially, Jeff’s guitar influences were grunge bands Pearl Jam, STP, Alice and Chains, and Soundgarden, but later, bands like Rush, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Queensryche, and Metallica made their impact. After high school, Jeff, Mark, and Mike formed the band Morning Wood with drummer John Hoadley. The saying goes “all good things must come to an end” and so it was true. Morning Wood dissolved and Jeff moved to Pennsylvania to attend medical school. Upon his return to Michigan, Jeff knew that Mark and Mike were involved with a new band AZURI. It was some time, and quite a surprise, but one evening Jeff received a phone call and the rest is history… or is it now… maybe the future? Regardless of the moment, Jeff is happy to be playing music with good friends again, including drummer Mike and bassist Terry. Jeff is looking forward to the future of AZURI, creating new music with friends, and hopes to see you soon!
